I didn't think it'd ever happen for me to think that maybe it wasn't that bad that Boone got offed then and not later *shakes head*.
I feel the same way about Charlie. The follow up to his death might have been a bitter disappointment, but in S3 he had a huge arc atoning for his sins and becoming the genuine good guy he always was. He had a full episode celebrating the 'Greatest Hits' of his character, then died a selfless hero and a beautiful man. I'm sure that many more characters will die in the coming seasons but I doubt they'll get such powerful exits.
Charlies and Boones deaths might have been cruel and meaningless but at least the characters themselves went out with grace and honour. They were the only two deaths that seemed to move viewers, rather than shock them.
