1. Hi world. <33 sorry for being scarce but I'm currently internet-less at my grandmother's village except for my mom's USB key that gets you on the internet, but I have to go from her computer and I can't stay more than half an hour each day, so I'm not checking the FL. Actually if there's something you posted that I should see leave me links? I'll catch up eventually, but since I'm not going back home until the 1st, it'll be long.

2. Meanwhile in the last four days I managed to finish two books I had started ages ago and I read another three and a half, I already need detox from all the crappy television my grandparents manage to watch and then I managed to completely burn my back at the seaside even if I was wearing a white shirt. The last bit is making me feel like my back was on fire. The first bit would be good but if I keep this rate I'll run out of books before I leave. The place is, however, more depressing with every passing year. I have enough confirms that I couldn't live in places far from cities. Or in places where there isn't a bookshop.

3. Also I missed a bunch of birthdays since I left, so, happy late birthday to halfdutch, timey_wimey_kid, flying_colours, zsavagebelle, scarletsherlock and whatsername_05! I hope you all had fantastic days and that your next year is amazing. ♥ and sorry for the lateness.

1. These Days (Bon Jovi song and record): my favorite song since forever and my favorite record since forever. ♥

2. The Three Musketeers (book): my second-favorite book, which is by the way also the most delightful book I ever read. My love for it is immense.

3. Uma Thurman: my favorite actress. Incidentally, it's also the one woman I'd go lesbian for without a second thought.

4. Trenchcoats: I happen to have some kind of obsession with that kind of coat. I think it was born when I used to watch Columbo when I was seven or eight, then I decided I wanted one after seeing Casablanca and then I got one just after Castiel happened. Anyway in my eyes wearing one increases the attractiveness of whoever wears it by a whole lot of points. I just really like the damn things, even if they're useless when it rains.

5. Theon Greyjoy: (PEOPLE WHO ARE READING ASOIAF NOW JUST SKIP THIS BIT OKAY) apparently, my second-favorite living male character in those books. Also, the biggest literary 180° I ever did. I went from hating his guts to a) loving his face and b) thinking he had the best arc in ADWD and one of the best three in the books so far. He also has my favorite quote ever from the entire thing. Also I have never thought 'damn I didn't understand nothing about that character before now' in my entire life before his ADWD storyline happened. Deserves a place at least for that.

6. Tim Burton: one of my favorite directors. He shot at least two of my favorite movies ever (Edward Scissorhands and Batman Returns), but I loved pretty much everything he did except that Planet of the Apes remake *cough*. He also likes the same tropes I like, which means I almost never dislike anything he comes up with.

7. Tom Waits: or, he might not be in my top five favorite musicians but I love the hell out of his music, as weird as it gets. I also love his voice and the fact that there's really no one like him around. I'm just very sad I haven't seen him live yet.

8. The Times, They're a Changin': my favorite Bob Dylan record as a whole in existence. My favorites on it are the title track, With God on Our Side and The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll (which is my favorite Dylan song most days), but I just love it as a whole.

9. Titus Lucretius Caro: or, this might seem so very random, but I spent five years studying Latin/Greek in high school and this lovely guy's poem is probably my favorite thing that I ever studied. Incidentally, my bachelor thesis was mostly about his influence on Kant so well, he deserved a spot. Also I study philosophy, there had to be a philosophy-related spot.

10. Tom Joad: again with fictional characters, but the speech this one guy here gives to his mother at the end of Grapes of Wrath might be one of my favorite single pieces of writing that ever happened. Also The Ghost of Tom Joad is my favorite Springsteen song. And at some point he had Henry Fonda's face. my reasons can also be very shallow

7. That's all for now - I'm still hoping to put together that rec post someway before I leave again and the stuff I want to rec hasn't been posted for a month and more. And that I don't get thoroughly fried at the beach or by the completely out of this world hot weather meanwhile. *waves* ♥
