Ee, happy Bastille day AND, most important, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] toestastegood and [livejournal.com profile] mollivanders!! <3333 I hope the both of you are having a lovely time and that next year is amazing for the both of you because you totally are awesomeness and you deserve that. In the former's case I hope it's filled with exams dealing with Lucifer lore, Titus Welliver starring somewhere he gets top bill, and also with John Winchester resurrecting (and I so can't wait to meet you! ♥), while in the latter's case I most definitely hope you get as much hat porn on Justified (which I will have to watch sooner or later..), politics getting less bitchy to deal with and awesome people guest starring on the vampire porn. ;) Happy birthday to the both of you again! And if you want to prompt me I'll see what I can do. (Even if I know what [livejournal.com profile] toestastegood might want.. which she will get eventually, I hope. ;) ) <3333

Also, random stuff that doesn't deserve bullet points: my Lost fic apparently reminds that generator everyone knows about of Stephen King, my LJ posts are like Margaret Atwood and my SPN porn is similar to Nabokov. At least it's all people I like, even if the only one which probably is half-right is King. Or at least, I've been told that my style DID resemble is ages ago, but then again it was Dark Tower fic. Still, my capslock posts being like Atwood is hilarious.

And since I'm an idiot and forgot to say, thanks so much [livejournal.com profile] siluria for the Deadwood postcard!!!!!!!! It totally made my day when it arrived. :DDD

--

Okay, I'm back on brainstorming on luau catching up. But, last thing, if you haven't seen The Beguiled, then I highly recommend it. For not entirely shallow reasons, I swear. ;)

Okay, that was all. *waves*

1. Blah. This morning I overslept and missed class. And then when I tried to recharge my phone it wasn't working (and hasn't been for two days). Then I found out it was the charger when I used my mother's. Arrgh, buying a new one is so not what I need. Anyway, at least it's working now. *phew*

2. I owe a shitload of comments/replies. Sorry for that, I'll try to get to them asap.

3. That said, I hope to be done with all the deadline fic in five days. *headdesk* It seems like the stuff I'm supposed to write won't work. *kicks self*

4. But, on to funnier things! Last Saturday I found out that my bookshop had a 20% discount on all the cds and dvds, which meant that I got the last Bon Jovi record, an old Nick Cave one, the Boston Greatest Hits and the DVDs for Lost S5 and I paid everything 30 euros less than it should have been in total. \o/ That said, I'm kind of surprised that in Europe we got the Lost dvds before America or so it seems, but if everyone remembers my post last year, this is the volume #2 of the crap whoever adapted it for Italian TV came up with. I'm sorry there are no gems like last year's 'Kate is a man' or 'Locke wants to leave the island', but there's some good stuff too.

Wherein people can't translate titles. )

5. Ookay, I should be doing stuff. Like, writing. Or posting a fanmix. Or catching up with comments. So, I'll probably do one of the three while trying to make contact with a friend I was supposed to have lunch with and with whom I couldn't talk until now because of the phone issue. *waves*

1. So I'm still half MIA. Because I'm finishing the fics for scifibigbang and I'm late *cough* but I should be done within the week. I hope I am, at least. I need to. Sorry if I reply to both entries and comments late or at random. Whyy am I always late?

2. On to fun stuff, last day I was at university and look at what was written on that thing you're supposed to write on when you only have chairs and not desks! (Sorry for the sucky explanation, but I don't know the English name)

I need to find the other Lost fan ASAP. )

3. Meme from [livejournal.com profile] mollivanders, in order to actually write something in this entry.

Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."
• I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity
• Update your journal with the answers to the questions

my questions (re seasons, ships and stuff )

4. Since I'm here, sign for Lost Hohoho! I'm so doing it again this year. And if last year someone actually wrote the Karl/Locke mpreg vampire fic, now I want to see someone attempting the Hurley/Shannon wingsex genderswapping one...

5. Just two words on the latest Heroes related news, not that I watch it but when it's relevant to my interests I read news. Warning: not exactly nice. So... )

6. Another two words on Flashforward. I'm still kinda meh. )

7. I fear that one of these days I'll have a political rant. *sigh* I should stop reading newspapers.

8. Okay, I'll get back writing. *waves* And when I'm done I'll finish checking all the awesome spooky fic at [livejournal.com profile] thequillstation which I couldn't check already.

Hiii! So, we're in Genova, everything is fine, the city is beautiful, pics will come when I have
less more than thirteen minutes on the hotel's internet, but I needed to show this. So, basically,
me and my friend are happily having a walk in the center this morning after a couple of museums
and then I stumble into THIS.

MISHA COLLINS IS WATCHING YOU. TRUFAX. )

Okay, as some people around here might remember, I've been plotting an AU WWII Lost epic since... like, last April. I actually have bits and pieces written but nothing longer than 4000 words or so and I'm not even at the beginning of the beginning. And I was actually doing research for something else and what do I find?

There was a ship named USS Boone County used in WWII!!

Apart from the fact that I didn't know that there were at least twelve Boone counties in the USA, the fun thing is that apart from the ship going in a place in New Jersey first thing, the itinerary it did in WWII is exactly and I mean exactly the itinerary I had pictured for my American contingent (explaining: Des, Sayid, Charlie and someone else were supposed to be in El Alamein with the British army and then when going to Sicily they'd have merged with an American contingent with Jack, Michael and the rest which weren't with the Brits). And then not only it went to Sicily but it also went to Salerno which is actually where my dad's family lives. Then it went to France and I hadn't planned on sending them that far (I still didn't know what I was going to do after a certain point) but still, I'm still completely doubling in laughter over this. Oh God. Maybe it's a sign of destiny urging me to actually get back on writing the damn thing and putting all my newly acquired Rommel knowledge to use even if I need to finish more urgent things first but... oh my. I'm probably too amused for my own good.

(Also, the other fun thing is that Boone was supposed to be with the Red Cross so I don't think I could have him traveling on that ship but still.)

ETA: not to mention, what about a kid named Boone Sawyer from Tennessee who wants to be like Elvis Presley? This is the amusing afternoon.

1. Okay, so, today I was supposed to have the first exam of the term and yay, too many people so I'm tomorrow morning. I'd have rather used today to sleep it off and spend tomorrow doing nothing and then start studying for the next one on Friday but I guess I'll renounce the sleeping-today-off part. Clearly I'll be later than usual with Lost but still, at least I've managed to hear another exam and it looks better than I feared. I guess tomorrow I'll be less nervous which isn't a bad thing at all. Even if I could have used sleeping today off but whatever, after all it's common practice. Ah well, so it goes. I'll be having a couple cups of coffee and get back on it. *sigh*

2. Just for the lulz, Sugarland (-> country group which I only know because the singer made a duet on a Bon Jovi record ages ago and isn't actually that bad if you accept the premise that it's country music without any purpose to be more than entertaining) have a song on their last record called Steve Earle. Which is indeed about Steve Earle. I probably find it more amusing than it actually is but still.

3. I know I have some comments to catch up with. I'll be doing it tonight or tomorrow when point 1 is said and done.

4. Goes unsaid that I didn't watch Heroes, even if I have it downloaded. If it was Lost I'd have probably said who cares, but as things are right now I'll be catching up with it tomorrow or this weekend. Anyone who saw it could tell me how it was? Good, bad, downright bad, downright hilarious, back at S1 levels (I doubt it)? I know I'll be watching it eventually, but I avoided reviews and they looked decent, so...

5. Okay, getting back on studying. *sigh*
